What I envision

I guess I should start with some of my goals and dreams.

A bit of a fantasy some say, I would like to be able to create synthetic body parts. Not just an arm or a leg. I am referring to creating functioning eyes, ears, and if possible a synthetic brain. I understand basics when it comes to the nervous system and brain, and how they function. In order to realize this goal, I will need to learn more about how these parts function and coordinate together. I believe the biggest hurdle will be understanding how neurons coordinate.

If one was able to create these synthetic body parts and replace for example a human eye (this to me would be the crown jewel) you could give it functions such as the ability to take instant photographs, record video, or even allow a HUD of sorts. Hard drives could be installed into ones brains to allow a photographic memory. Strength and speed could be increased.

While this may be far off, it is my biggest goal. As the blog progresses,  I plan on researching and posting my process here.

If you also have any suggestions for information or something that you believe would interest me,  feel free to leave it here in a comment.

The SGA

During the course of my life, I grew up in a small town surrounded by cows and farms. For the most part the only time I had any sustained intellectual conversations was when I discussed topics with my teachers. Now that I am out of high school, the daily conversations are sorely missed. Hence I created this blog. While I prefer topics regarding engineering, science, and technology, I also enjoy current events and politics.

I must leave for work soon, so I will consider what I shall start with during that time and post again tomorrow morning.
